Duplex 2205 Plate at temperatures above 300°C, the brittle micro-constituents of it undergo precipitation, and at temperatures below -50°C the micro-constituents undergo ductile-to-brittle transition; hence this it is not suitable for use the above temperatures, they are used in applications that require good corrosion resistance and strength. Duplex Steel Plates are an appropriate replacement to austenitic grades, especially in marine environments and premature failure environments and they are resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking at 150°C temperature. Duplex 2205 stainless steel sheet withstands localized corrosion types like intergranular, pitting, and crevice and is excellent corrosion resistance, much higher than that of grade 316.
Duplex Stainless Steel Sheet is most standard welding methods is used for duplex steel sheet except welding without filler metals, with low due to its high strength and its cutting speeds are almost 20% lower than that of 304 stainless steel. Its heat input must be maintained at a low level, and the use of pre or post-heat must be avoided.
